He everyone,
Well, I made it to Kathmandu in one piece, arriving early on Monday morning. I was met at the airport by Dev and Maya, the couple who run the orphanage. Dev is also a pastor. They drove me to my hotel and I then showered and had a bit of breakfast. Upon returning to the room, I decided to rest. The flights took a total of 26 hours and I did not sleep much at all. So, I fell asleep in the room for a couple of hours. When I awoke, I got up and was very dizzy, like vertigo. I was able to walk and stand but it was a real unpleasant surprise, as I had felt great when I left from the US. So, I rested for the rest of the day. On Tuesday, I didn’t feel much better but I knew I had to leave for the conference. I asked for a late checkout and was able to leave at 3 PM, when I was driven the 45 minutes to the hotel up up on a mountain. I had a restless night, as the power went out 2 or 3 times, turning off the ac. But, I was picked up this morning by Pastor Cherian of HMU and driven to the conference site, the Godavari Ashram. I was still not feeling well but I knew I had 3 1-hour sessions to teach so I prayed and moved ahead. As the day went on, I was feeling increasingly better except for the jet lag slapping me around!I got back to the hotel and about 6PM and had some dinner and now will get ready for tomorrow. The group of about 30 pastors is wonderful and responsive, and the translator (Baburam) is very skilled. I am looking forward to tomorrow and trust that I will be feeling better.
Thanks for the love and prayers.
Dvid
Praying for you to get that much needed rest and for the dizziness to go away. The people you are preaching to are blessed by your wonderful teaching of God’s Word.
Thanks for posting.
Praying God gives you freedom from vertigo, increased strength, stamina, and joy in the spirit.
Hey. I hope you’re feeling better. I’ll be praying that you won’t have to experience any vertigo for the remainder of your trip. Love you, man.
