We’re in Kathmandu

It is 6 AM on Saturday morning here in Kathmandu, Nepal. We got in yesterday from Delhi at about 4 PM and were met a 6 PM at the hotel by Pankaj and Tonielle, the couple who direct the CC Bible College. Pankaj also is the pastor of a church here. They joined us for dinner and we had a really wonderful time of conversation. They have gone through some tough challenges in recent months but are through them and things are going well for them now. Among the many topics of discussion was the possibility of me coming maybe later in the year to conduct a week of classes at the school.

In a couple of hours we will be picked up by Dev from the orphanage and will spend the morning with him and the kids. He also a pastor who conducts his church service on Saturday morning. In fact, Saturday is the day that Christian churches meet for worship. He has asked me to preach this morning so I am ready for that. I am looking forward to talking with him about his plan for the goat farm and how it will work. It is going to be an exciting day!

I will post some pics later of the orphanage and the kids. Sorry for the lack of pics up to this point.

Things are going well and I am grateful for all of your prayers.

Blessings to you all,

David

Done in India, Heading to Nepal

At the conference yesterday, I met a young man who had been arrested and beaten by the police in a small village wh4re he lives, all because he perform a baptism. He has since moved to a different city, as the pressure on him from the local authorities was relentless. He will remain nameless here but please remember to pray for him.

The ordination service was very moving yesterday (Thursday). These men were prayed for and commissioned to go out and plant churches throughout India. I am impressed with their dedication to the task in front of them.

Today, we will fly to Kathmandu, where shortly after our arrival we will meet with the Directors of the CC Bible College for dinner. I am looking forward to hearing what is happening at the school.

Thanks for the prayers!

David

Had A Wonderful Day

Today we went to the site of the Indian Pastors conference, the Campus for Christ India facility. There were close to 200 pastors in attendance.

Shortly after arriving, I was interviewed and filmed by a representative from Calvary Magazine, who is going to be publishing a feature on Harvest Mission to the Unreached (HMU). The interview was mainly about my association with HMU. I was glad to help, as it is a top-notch organization.

Then, shortly thereafter I spoke for about 20 minutes prior to an ordination ceremony. The subject was what it means to be a shepherd.

It was a joy to catch up with long-time friends and to see familiar faces. It was a great day and I am looking forward to the sessions tomorrow.

Thanks again for the prayers. I hope to put up some pictures tomorrow.
