Things Ahead

Now that the holidays (and the Super Bowl) are over, all the focus is now on what is coming up for MTI.

In 3 weeks I’ll be heading out to India and Nepal. In India, I will be in Mumbai for nearly a week. We are working with a young man who has been to Bible College, but also has had his own successful business in India and is very bright and articulate. He wants to plant a church in Mumbai. So I will work alongside another pastor and a couple of others to help him as he lays the groundwork. To that end, he has put together a Men’s Conference, renting out the YMCA in Mumbai for a couple of days. I will be speaking at that event.

I will then travel to Delhi to once again participate in a conference of pastors and to participate in some weekend events.

Then I will travel to Kathmandu, Nepal once again. I will first visit the Glorious Mission Orphanage and will be reporting back on the progress of the new facility that has largely come about through the generous donations of friends and supporters of MTI and Calvary Chapel of Silverdale. That will be exciting to see! I will then participate in a conference of pastors in Kathmandu. I was there at the conference last year, and the massive earthquake shook the country shortly thereafter. So, I have not seen most of the pastors since then. Many of them are going to be traveling from remote villages that have received very little in the way of help and assistance to rebuild. I look forward to being with them and hearing their stories, and assessing how we might be able to help them.

So, another trip in April, but more on that later.

Thanks for your prayers and support, without which MTI would not exist.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

I am happy to report that all the needed funds for the construction of the orphanage in Kathmandu have been raised. A heartfelt word of thanks to so many of you for your generosity.

I look forward to an exciting and fruitful 2016.

Please Help the Orphanage

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving (assuming many of you are in the US!)

I want to ask you each to consider making a donation for the Glorious Mission Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal. Many of you came forward to help when the earthquake hit. Your donations made a huge difference. They were able to purchase tarps, food, begin construction on their new building, and assist in other villages. When I was there in September, I visited the site of their new building and was encouraged by the progress they had made. But now, there is a huge shortage of goods and services and fuel in Nepal, due to protests and blockades at the India/Nepal border. I have verified this through numerous contacts I have in Nepal. Thus, prices have skyrocketed. To complete the orphanage, $5,500.00 is needed. Here is an excerpt from Dev, the orphanage director in response to my question as to what it will cost to finish the project:

“We need plaster labour Cost cement, sand, gravel, toilet, pipeline, windows and doors, colors, electric wire and lights, compound wall finishing and gate etc all is going to cost about $5500. All money finished. Thank you so much for the great support for church and orphanage.”

You can donate to MTI for the orphanage and all the funds will go directly to them. You may click on the donate link and use PayPal, or you can mail a check made out to MTI. Make sure to indicate that it is for the orphanage.

Thanks so much. We CAN do this!

David
