An Eventful Day!

Had an eventful afternoon. I left my hotel by the Mumbai airport and took a taxi to the other side of the city, about an hour’s ride, where I checked into the hotel where I will spend the next 4 nights. It is within walking of the YMCA where the men’s conference will be held the next couple of days. I was picked up by friends and transported to the home of Jose Victor, the young man who is putting the conference. It was a home full of young adults who are helping with this exciting event. His wife, Sarah, made a delicious lunch of a variety of Indian dishes and naan. Wow!! My American colleagues were there as well. We then walked to the Y, about a 10-minute walk through a bustling, nice neighborhood of the newer area of Mumbai. The Y is a well-utilized facility, with basketball, ping pong, badminton, karate classes, and more going on. The gym was being prepared for the conference. We all helped out for a while, after which I came back to the hotel at about 8 PM.
I am looking forward to the event tomorrow and, hopefully, I’ll post some pics!

Thanks for the prayers!

In India Again!

I arrived in Mumbai at 2 this morning (Thursday) after safe, comfortable flights. Glad to be back! I will post more as the days go on.
Thanks for the prayers!

Things Ahead

Now that the holidays (and the Super Bowl) are over, all the focus is now on what is coming up for MTI.

In 3 weeks I’ll be heading out to India and Nepal. In India, I will be in Mumbai for nearly a week. We are working with a young man who has been to Bible College, but also has had his own successful business in India and is very bright and articulate. He wants to plant a church in Mumbai. So I will work alongside another pastor and a couple of others to help him as he lays the groundwork. To that end, he has put together a Men’s Conference, renting out the YMCA in Mumbai for a couple of days. I will be speaking at that event.

I will then travel to Delhi to once again participate in a conference of pastors and to participate in some weekend events.

Then I will travel to Kathmandu, Nepal once again. I will first visit the Glorious Mission Orphanage and will be reporting back on the progress of the new facility that has largely come about through the generous donations of friends and supporters of MTI and Calvary Chapel of Silverdale. That will be exciting to see! I will then participate in a conference of pastors in Kathmandu. I was there at the conference last year, and the massive earthquake shook the country shortly thereafter. So, I have not seen most of the pastors since then. Many of them are going to be traveling from remote villages that have received very little in the way of help and assistance to rebuild. I look forward to being with them and hearing their stories, and assessing how we might be able to help them.

So, another trip in April, but more on that later.

Thanks for your prayers and support, without which MTI would not exist.
