Done in India, Heading to Nepal

At the conference yesterday, I met a young man who had been arrested and beaten by the police in a small village wh4re he lives, all because he perform a baptism. He has since moved to a different city, as the pressure on him from the local authorities was relentless. He will remain nameless here but please remember to pray for him.

The ordination service was very moving yesterday (Thursday). These men were prayed for and commissioned to go out and plant churches throughout India. I am impressed with their dedication to the task in front of them.

Today, we will fly to Kathmandu, where shortly after our arrival we will meet with the Directors of the CC Bible College for dinner. I am looking forward to hearing what is happening at the school.

Thanks for the prayers!

Had A Wonderful Day

Today we went to the site of the Indian Pastors conference, the Campus for Christ India facility. There were close to 200 pastors in attendance.

Shortly after arriving, I was interviewed and filmed by a representative from Calvary Magazine, who is going to be publishing a feature on Harvest Mission to the Unreached (HMU). The interview was mainly about my association with HMU. I was glad to help, as it is a top-notch organization.

Then, shortly thereafter I spoke for about 20 minutes prior to an ordination ceremony. The subject was what it means to be a shepherd.

It was a joy to catch up with long-time friends and to see familiar faces. It was a great day and I am looking forward to the sessions tomorrow.

Thanks again for the prayers. I hope to put up some pictures tomorrow.

In Delhi Again

Well, it is Tuesday, February 20, and I landed at the Delhi airport about 12 hours ago. A friend landed about 10 minutes before me and then we met at baggage claim and made our way to the hotel in the center of Delhi. It is great being back in India, “haze” and traffic and all.

We will go to the conference tomorrow, and I am looking to once again spending time with the Indian pastors. I had a cold last week but am feeling much better now.

Not much to say, as I usually take the first day of an international trip to recover from the flights, adjust to the time change, and prepare for the next day. That is what I did for most of the day today.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I’ll be reporting again tomorrow.

David
