Another Good Class and More

The day started out nicely: no hot water for the shower! I was wide awake after that! Fortunately, today I was shown the “trick” to making sure I have hot water each day. Otherwise, I am in a very cool apartment on campus. It is comfortable, clean, and it is extremely quiet at night. I am blessed.
In class today, we were discussing what it is like to take risks of faith. One of the students, a young woman from Peru probably mid-twenties, talked about how she had cancer of the uterus a few years ago. She prayed many times for healing but nothing. So, her doctor scheduled the surgery in order to remove her uterus. 2 days before, her church asked if they could pray for her. She didn’t want to, as she had already asked, but agreed to let them surround her. She didn’t want to be disappointed again, but decided to let them pray. She went in the next day and was told there was no cancer, everything was perfectly normal. When she went to the surgeon to tell him, he didn’t believe it. He took our the x-rays that showed the cancer, then compared it to the new pics that showed it to be gone. He was speechless.
There were several other stories that were very cool.
Then, at lunch, I sat with a young woman who has the desire to be a leader and teacher of women. She will be interning at a church in the near future. She has a Phd in advertising but felt that God was leading her in another direction. She has a wonderful disposition and lots of joy and laughter, totally at peace with her decision.
Anyway, so far so good here. Looking forward to the next week and a half. Thanks for the prayers. Please post a word or two!

  2. How encouraging it must be to return and see the changes since we were there last time! I am so anxious to see pictures of the areas that have been worked on since then. I am especially glad for the staff and students they have a new well! Enjoy the wonderful people, the beautiful sunsets and know we are praying for you.
