Well, I flew back to Delhi today and will be participating in the Pastor’s Conference for the next 4 days. Yesterday I visited the orphanage we have been supporting in Kathmandu. With me was Pastor Ed Hickey from Toronto, Canada. He has a desire to establish an orphanage in Nepal or work with an existing one. Anyway, it was encouraging to see the new home that has been built since the earthquake destroyed their old home. Not only that, but a church in the U.K. is helping them to build another building as well. Dev and Maya eventually want to be able to have 30 children, and this new building will enable them to do that. They have great vision for the orphanage. They meticulously adhere to all government regulations, and they keep accurate records of all donations. I have included a photo of the children, wearing their new school uniforms. There are currently 12 children living there, plus Dev’s 2 kids. It was great to have an extensive talk with Dev and his brother and a fiend of his who is a pastor from another city. They all grew up in an orphanage, with 375 kids!! So, they all know what it means to live in one, and what it means to live an a far-less-than-perfect one. Our time with them was really helpful. I have also included a photo of Pastor Ed, Dev, and myself.
Now I’m looking forward to the week at the conference. Thanks for the prayers!
Blessings,
David
