A Very Long Day

Today began when I was picked up at the hotel at 9:45 and taken to a church service. There were 9 of us in our group. It was a good worship service and we spent time afterward talking with many of the church members. We then went to the home of Jose’s in-laws for another delicious home-made meal of Indian cuisine! So tasty! Then Jose and I went out for coffee and talked about his future plans for establishing a church in Mumbai. He later told me that it helped him clarify the steps he needs to take. We also talked about some possible future plans for MTI in Mumbai.

Then we headed to the YMCA for the afternoon sessions of the Men’s conference. We began at 4 and finished at 9 PM. Things went well but I was kind of fading at the end, trying to not doze off during the final session! Lots of conversations at the end and finally returned to the hotel at 9:45, a 12-hour day. I just came up to the room and had a dinner of an apple and an energy bar.

Tomorrow morning we will have a breakfast meeting here at the hotel with Sheldon Bangera, the musician in the video I posted. In the evening, we’ll dine at the home of the pastor of the church we visited this morning.

It’s all good, and a bit exhausting, too. I think I’ll go to bed now!

Thanks for the prayers!

  1. We prayed for you at church this morning. Glad things are going well. Praying you remain well and your energy is returned at the start of every day. I think those dance moves we could bring back over here!

I’ve been told by others that when you’re the first to do something, “breaking through a wall”, the first one through is the “bloodiest”. Don’t know if that translates well, but I’m encouraged by Jose’s step of faith. Though he might be discouraged by the lack of turn out, no doubt it will pay dividends in the future.

Excited to see more connections made and the Church being built up. We’re continuing to pray.

  2. Your day sounds busy and exhausting! Praying for you to continue to have the energy that you need to do the good work that you always do. I loved the video that you posted. Even though I couldn’t understand the words, the joy in the music and the Lord shines through. I hope that hearing this young man and his band live will also help energize you and get you through your long days.

It is very encouraging to hear about future plans for churches and plans for MTI in Mumbai. I pray that more men will come to future conferences and that the Christian community will continue to grow there. I hope that those attending this conference are as blessed by your teaching as we always are. We continue to pray for all of you during church and at community groups.

    Blessings,
    Dawn

  3. I am so excited for all that is happening there. It is not just words when we say that the people that are there are the ones that are supposed to be. Praying for all of these seeds that are being planted. Can’t believe you would update us after a day like that! Thanks so much. Praying for your health and every word you speak. I’m thinking next time you need a food taster to go with you 🙂
