It is now early Thursday morning. Yesterday afternoon, we finished the leadership seminars. What a great time it was and I am glad to have replied to Pastor Andrew’s initial email of inquiry nearly a year ago. All went well, and everyone in attendance seemed to have been instructed and encouraged.
Today, Pastor Andrew and his wife Marilyn are going to take us around the area of Mandalay to see some of the sights. It will be a beautiful, warm day and I am looking forward to it.
I have included a couple of pictures. One is of 2 of the young women who are students at the Bible School. You will notice a kind of cosmetic on their faces. Many women and girls in Myanmar wear it. It is called Thanaka, a cosmetic paste made from ground tree bark. It is used for sun protection as well as smoothing the skin and for designs. It has a pleasant fragrance as well. Apparently, Burmese women have been using it for 2,000 years!
The other photo shows the students leaving the site of the seminars at the end of the day.
Thanks for all the prayers!
David
